You Are a Content Creator

The challenge is real for content creators. We are tested daily to produce new, attention-grabbing content. The truth is that focusing on catchy communication pieces can lead to fluff. Communicators see the big picture of their operations, but they might not be exposed to all aspects of daily activities. The good news is that content creation isn’t limited to the Marketing Department. Everyone in the company can be a content creator—no need to feel intimidated. You don’t have to master graphics software or video editing tools. You already use tools for content creation in your daily work.

For example, you might have just created a great sales presentation highlighting your company’s unique benefits. Think about your key messaging points, the benefits you're communicating, and the illustrations you’re using. Your slides can be repurposed as social media posts.

How many times have you shown how to use equipment or provided step-by-step guidance? Just grab your mobile device and record the process. You’ll have a YouTube video ready to share on the company website.

Customers call and email daily with the same questions. They often don’t know where to find the answers or the information is missing from your website. This is a clear sign to update the website, create an infographic, or write an article for the newsletter.

Don’t limit sharing information to the Communications Department. What do you use every day to share your brand’s message? That’s content, and you are a content creator.
